Failed to be Art - Original Watercolour Painting

Is the art art? Or did it fail to be art? Is it just pretending not to be art? Or is it really not art? Who can say!

This is one of the bathtub paintings! If you don't know, I have a unique art studio, in an old hotel, complete with hotel bathtub. I made some paintings in it, initially on sort of a dare, but it's evolved into a whole process that I've grown to love. I do the whole process in the bath - from conception to completion. So the idea for this painting and every brush stroke in it happened in the bath. Oh, and the water for the watercolour? You guessed it.

Is it weird to paint in a bath? Sure. Is it hard to keep a steady hand in the tub? You bet! But is it oddly therapeutic and full of conceptual possibilities? Is it ever!

Painted on 11"x14" watercolour paper. Since these paintings are loose and scrappy, they may have a smudge or two, but that's a big part of their charm.
